About this set
"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6:11.
The Lord's Prayer, hand-lettered above a meadow of wildflowers, on a bag that keeps your homemade bread the way it should be: crisp crust, soft crumb, and no plastic.
It's a quietly beautiful Christian gift for the woman who bakes. Give it to a mother, grandmother, wife, pastor's wife, or a friend from church, at Christmas, Mother's Day, a housewarming blessing, a baptism or just because. It looks lovely on the counter and brings a little grace to every meal.
What's in the set
- 2 extra-large beeswax-lined bread bags, about 13" × 17" each
- 1 beeswax bowl cover, about 13" across, for proofing dough or covering a bowl
- Arrives in a gift-ready box
Materials
Natural cotton outer with a lining of pure beeswax, organic jojoba oil and food-grade tree resin. Plastic-free and food-safe. Drawstring closure with a cord-lock buckle.
How to use it
- Let your loaf cool completely, at least 2 hours, or overnight for sourdough.
- Put it in the bag cut side down, then pull the drawstring and tuck the top under.
- Eat it within the first few days. Slice and freeze whatever's left in the same bag.
- Between loaves, shake out the crumbs, wipe with cool water and mild soap, then air dry.
Care
Cool water only. No hot water, dishwasher, microwave or tumble dryer, because heat melts the beeswax lining. Air dry before the next loaf. With gentle care, a bag lasts for many months of daily use.
An honest note
No bag stops mold forever. Homemade bread has no preservatives. This bag keeps the crust crisp and the crumb soft for the first few days, and the freezer takes care of the rest.
Size & what's included
- 2 extra-large bread bags, about 13" × 17" each: fits a large round boule, a long batard or a full sandwich loaf

- Drawstring closure with cord-lock buckle
- Gift-ready box
- Free bonus: 45 Easy Sourdough Recipes e-book + Sourdough Journal & Logbook (PDF, emailed after purchase)
Care
Shake out crumbs, then wipe or hand-wash in cool water with a little mild soap. Turn the beeswax lining out and air dry. Never use hot water, the dishwasher, microwave or dryer, because heat melts the wax. With gentle care, your bags last for many months of daily use.

“Give us this day our daily bread.”
Matthew 6:11
Jesus taught us to ask for bread one day at a time, trusting the Father for what we need. Every loaf that comes out of her oven is an answer to that prayer. Now the bag she keeps it in says so.

The problem with bread storage
Plastic sweats. Paper dries. Your loaf deserves better.
Homemade bread has no preservatives, so how you store it decides whether you're enjoying it on day three or throwing half of it away.
Plastic makes it sweat
Trapped steam turns a crackly crust soft and rubbery, and the damp bag is where mold starts.
Paper dries it out
Great for a few hours. By the next morning your loaf is “rock hard” and fit only for toast.
Tea towels & bread boxes
A towel does very little, and bread boxes hold onto crumbs and spores loaf after loaf unless they're scrubbed.
A beeswax-lined cotton bag sits in the sweet spot: it breathes, so the crust stays crisp, and the wax holds in just enough moisture to keep the crumb soft.

The 2-minute routine
How to keep a loaf at its best
The best bakers don't rely on the bag alone. Pair it with this routine and your bread keeps its crust and crumb for days, with less ending up in the trash.
Cool completely
Give it at least 2 hours, or overnight for sourdough. Steam trapped in a warm loaf is the #1 cause of soggy crusts and early mold.
Bag it cut side down
Place the loaf in the bag cut side down, pull the drawstring and tuck the top under.
Slice & freeze the rest
Won't finish it in 2–3 days? Slice it and put the bag in the freezer. Toast straight from frozen.
Wipe, dry, repeat
Between loaves, shake out the crumbs, wipe with cool water and air dry. It takes 30 seconds.
Eat within the first few days, and freeze the rest. Homemade bread has no preservatives, so no bag can stop mold forever. This routine gets you the most good days from every loaf.

“Why not just freeze it?”
You should. In the same bag.
Freezing is the best way to keep bread for weeks. Fresh bread, though, belongs on the counter, where it stays crisp. Freeze your whole loaf and it's toast-only from day one. These bags do both jobs.
- Days 1–3: on the counterCrisp crust and soft crumb, just as you baked it.
- After that: straight into the freezerSlice what's left and pop the whole bag in. No plastic freezer bags.
- Less waste, less plasticStop throwing away the last third of every loaf.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Is the verse printed on the bag?
Yes. “Give us this day our daily bread” and “Matthew 6:11” are printed on the main bag, above a hand-drawn wheat sprig and wildflowers. The second bag has a matching kitchen print in the same warm colors, and the bowl cover has a wheat design.
Is this a Catholic or a Christian design?
Both. The words come from the Lord's Prayer (the Our Father), which Christians of every tradition pray. That makes it a lovely gift for Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox friends alike.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes. Add a note at checkout and we'll include it with the order. The set arrives in a gift-ready box.
How long will my bread stay fresh?
Honestly, it depends on your bread and your kitchen. Most homemade sourdough keeps a crisp crust and soft crumb for about 3–4 days in the bag. Enriched and soft breads are best within 2–3 days. Hot, humid kitchens shorten that. Follow the routine (cool completely, cut side down, then slice and freeze what you won't eat) and you'll get the most from every loaf.
Will it stop my bread going moldy?
No bag can promise that, and we won't pretend it can. Homemade bread has no preservatives. A breathable beeswax bag avoids the trapped, sweaty moisture that makes bread in plastic mold fastest. But the real fix is the routine: cool the loaf fully, eat it within a few days and freeze the rest.
How big are the bags?
Each bag is about 13" wide × 17" long, extra-large. It fits a big round boule, a long batard or a full sandwich loaf. The bowl cover is about 13" across and stretches over most mixing and proofing bowls.
What are they made of?
Natural cotton on the outside, lined with pure beeswax, organic jojoba oil and food-grade tree resin. No plastic, and food-safe. The wax may have a faint, natural honey smell when new. That fades with use.
How do I clean them?
Shake out the crumbs, then wipe or hand-wash in cool water with a little mild soap. Turn the lining out and air dry. No hot water, dishwasher, microwave or dryer, because heat melts the beeswax.
Can I put them in the freezer or fridge?
Yes. They're freezer-safe, which is the best place for bread you won't eat within a few days. We don't recommend the fridge for bread, because it goes stale faster there, but the bags themselves are fine in it.
Can I mix designs in a bundle?
Yes. Choose 2 or 3 sets and pick a design for each one. The bundle price ($64.99 for 2 sets, $84.99 for 3) applies automatically in your cart.
How fast is shipping?
Free standard shipping on every US order. We ship from our US fulfilment center in 1–2 business days, and it arrives 3–5 business days later. For Christmas, order by December 15.
What if I don't love them?
Try them for 30 days. If they're not for you, even if you've used them, email us and we'll send a free return label and refund you. Damaged or faulty? We'll replace it free.
